Marcello Mencarini

Marcello Mencarini is a journalist based in Rome and Milan.

After working in advertising, he began to concentrate on photo-journalism photographing writers, artists, composers, conductors and the main cultural events of the time.

During the 1995 Venice Film Festival he was the first photographer in Italy to produce a reportage using only a digital camera.

During the XIL Film Festival, which took place in Venice from the 29th of August to the 8th of September 2002, he made the first photojournalistic report via a mobile phone in collaboration with Nokia and Vodafone Omnitel.Since 2001, he has been the coordinator of Emage, the Grazia Neri multimedia laboratory.In 2002, he created along side Michele Neri, 'Makadam', the first Italian camera phone community. Publications with which Marcello collaborates with include 'Il Corriere Della Sera', 'TV RadioCorriere','L'Espresso and Campioni.'
