Chianciano International Award for Digital and Photographic Art 2010

HOME APPLICATION

The selection process will terminate on the 13th of August 2010.

The International Award is not only a prestigious museum exhibition which is judged by world-class professionals and curated by experts that have staged exhibitions in important museums.

Most importantly, it is a platform which
gives visibility and recognition to those who participate.
The event is publicised in very important magazines and the press office is working on having having editorials and maximising media coverage.

 PUBLICITY
Invitations to the exhibition will be sent to the most important art galleries, publishers and photo editors in Europe and the United States.

All the clients of Chianciano's two hunderd hotels will be invited to the event.


Advertisements will be posted on international newspapers and magazines such as:

"Digital Photo" 55,000 copies
"Practical Photography" 60,000 copies
"Digital Artist" The most read magazine in its field. Distributed in the UK and USA.
"Advanced Photoshop" 23,000 copies. Distributed in the UK and USA.



ONLINE CATALOGUE
The catalogue will be prepared by the same designers who prepared catalogues such as:

"Figures, from Realism to Abstraction" at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.

"The Third Millennium Exhibition" at the Lord Leighton Museum, London.

"Impressions on Canvas" at the Chelsea Town Hall, London.

Every artist will have one page. This will include one of the exhibited works and the artist's statement.

EXHIBITION IN LONDON

Independently of the exhibition in Chianciano, 30 artists; 15 photographers and 15 digital artists, will be chosen to take part in a week long exhibition dedicated to the award, at the Gagliardi Gallery in London in 2011.

All the gallery's clientele, gathered over 33 years in London, will be invited.

INFORMATION FOR EXHIBITION
1. The artists which will be displayed in the Museum exhibition must be approved by the Committee.

2. An artist can have three works displayed if their dimensions do not exceed 50 cm x 70 cm, otherwise two works will be displayed. The maximum size accepted is 120 cm x 120 cm.


3. Each work must be labelled with the artist's name, title, number of editions and value, for those who wish to sell their work.

4. The exhibition will be hosted in the halls of the Museum.

5. The artworks or photographs can be collected from the Museum only after the exhibition is finished.

CONTRIBUTION
The Award will be heavily publicised in very important magazines.


As stated above, we have already booked numerous full-colour pages between Digital Photo Magazine, the most-read photo magazine in the UK, Practical PhotographerDigital Artist, the most-read magazine in its field and Advanced Photoshop. We are also planning to support the exhibition with more advertising closer to the event, and our press office is working to give maximum exposure to the show and the participants. In today's world, publicity is important and the success of this event is dependent on advertising as is mentioned above.

One of the main objectives is to give great visibility to the works displayed, following the curators' requirements.


EXHIBITION

To participate in the exhibition - 500 Euros plus taxes (600 Euros including taxes) payable in two instalments.

WORKSHOP
In order to participate in the workshop - 750 Euros plus taxes (900 Euros including taxes) payable in two instalments.

EXHIBITION AND WORKSHOP
If a workshop participant would like to participate in the exhibition he/she must be accepted by the Committee - The cost is the sum of the exhibition and the worksop as can be seen above, payable in three instalments.


HOW TO APPLY


EXHIBITION

2. In order to apply for the exhibition, artists should firstly fill in the form by clicking here and then send five images from their portfolios for consideration of the Committee to the following email address:

3. If the application is approved by the Committee, artworks will be selected for the exhibition and the applicant will be able to take part in the event.

4. The Committee will meet every week to select the candidates to ensure efficient organisation.

5. The Chianciano Art Museum will issue Certificates of Participation.

WORKSHOPS

1. No selection is required for the workshops.

3. The workshops will be held by internationally-renowned photographers who collaborate with some of the most important publications in the world.

4. Classes will be led by a tutor and an assistant.

5. The Chianciano Art Museum will issue Certificates of Participation.
